With experience in all facets of civil litigation and trial work, Mr. Plante's specialty is real estate and construction litigation. Mr. Plante's clients include some of the largest and preeminent real estate brokers, general contractors and developers in Southern California and the Western United States. Mr. Plante's skillful litigation tactics, innovative risk management strategies and persuasive negotiation techniques have allowed him to obtain impressive results for his clients, both in the context of dispute resolution and at trial. Mr. Plante acted as lead trial and appellate counsel for the homebuilder in the seminal case of Crawford, et al. v. Weather Shield Mfg., Inc., wherein both the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court upheld the trial court's ruling that a subcontractor's contractual defense obligation is not contingent on fault and is triggered upon the mere assertion of a third party claim. The Crawford case is a victory for homebuilders throughout the State, and is a groundbreaking case in the constantly evolving world of indemnity law.
