With experience in all facets of civil litigation and trial work, Mr. Plante's specialty is real estate and construction litigation. Mr. Plante's clients include some of the largest and preeminent real estate brokers, general contractors and developers in Southern California and the Western United States. Mr. Plante's skillful litigation tactics, innovative risk management strategies and persuasive negotiation techniques have allowed him to obtain impressive results for his clients, both in the context of dispute resolution and at trial. Mr. Plante acted as lead trial and appellate counsel for the homebuilder in the seminal case of Crawford, et al. v. Weather Shield Mfg., Inc., wherein both the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court upheld the trial court's ruling that a subcontractor's contractual defense obligation is not contingent on fault and is triggered upon the mere assertion of a third party claim. The Crawford case is a victory for homebuilders throughout the State, and is a groundbreaking case in the constantly evolving world of indemnity law. Mr. Plante earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from The University of Rhode Island in 1991. He graduated magna cum laude from The Pepperdine University School of Law in 1994, where he was a contributing editor of The Pepperdine Law Review and served as a Law Clerk to the Office of the General Counsel. In 1994, Mr. Plante joined the law form of Lynberg & Watkins, where he specialized in insurance coverage litigation. Mr. Plante joined Green & Hall in 1997, and was made a partner in the firm in 2000. Mr. Plante is a member of the State Bar of California, the United States District Court for the Central and Northern Districts of California, and the Orange County Bar Association.
