For 17-plus years, Mr. Huguenin has represented some of California’s largest and most respected builders in complex real estate disputes as well as other companies in complex business disputes. The focus of his practice is commercial and residential real estate litigation defense and general business litigation disputes. In addition to providing vigorous and comprehensive defense in litigation, Mr. Huguenin advises his clients on how to prevent such claims from arising. He has developed an extensive training curriculum on litigation avoidance to support his frequent seminars on this topic which highlight the ramifications of SB 800 and the critical importance of proper Builder Customer Service practices. Mr. Huguenin joined Green & Hall in 1997 and became a Partner in 2003. In September of 2005 he was entrusted with the opportunity to open and manage the Firm’s new Northern California office now located in Roseville. From pioneering a one-attorney office, Ed quickly grew the practice to its current size of twelve attorneys supported by an eighteen-person staff. The Northern California office continues to enjoy wide- ranging success and tremendous annual growth. This growth was only made possible by providing extraordinarily favorable results for the Firm’s clients. Two recent cases attest to this fact. In one – a 20 day binding arbitration – a two million dollar claim was almost entirely rejected and the client’s counter claim for unpaid retention was upheld. In a second fourteen-day arbitration which culminated nearly four years of litigation, Mr. Huguenin secured an award in favor of his homebuilder client that included all costs and attorneys’ fees. This technically complex case involved concrete, geotechnical, structural and civil engineering issues. Mr. Huguenin has also enjoyed success in a number of other general business litigation matters, and has successfully resolved claims, collectively valued in the hundreds of millions on behalf of his clients over his career. Mr. Huguenin obtained his Bachelor's degree from Rhode Island College with a double major in Philosophy and Psychology, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1991. A 1994 Pepperdine University School of Law graduate, Mr. Huguenin served as an Associate Editor for the Pepperdine Law Review. Mr. Huguenin is currently a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Sacramento Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Back to Partner Overview |
