Robert L. Green is the managing partner of Green & Hall and practices in both the Orange County and Roseville offices. His practice covers a broad spectrum of litigation and trial work on behalf of many different types of business. His primary focus, however, is in the area of real estate litigation. He represents a large number of developers, general contractors, and title companies in a broad range of development and business-dispute resolution.
Mr. Green received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1985, where he was Order of the Coif, Order of the Barristers, Leading Articles Editor of the Southwestern Law Journal, and was named the Outstanding SMU Graduate Student for 1984. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1981. After law school, Mr. Green was appointed Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Edward H. Nakamura of the Hawaii Supreme Court for a one- year term. While there, he published two articles: Through the Looking Glass-Finality, Interlocutory Appeals and the Hawaii Supreme Court's Supervisory Powers, 9 Univ. of Haw. L.R. 87 (1987) and Mending a Deep Pocket Hole: The Discretionary Function Exception to the State Tort Liability Act, XX Haw. B.J. 37 (1986). Following his judicial clerkship, Mr. Green joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in its Newport Beach, California office. While there, Mr. Green worked on a broad spectrum of matters ranging from simple business disputes to complex multi-billion dollar antitrust matters. When a number of lawyers left Gibson Dunn to form Pettis, Tester, Kruse & Krinsky in Irvine, Mr. Green joined them to help start and develop their litigation practice group. At Pettis Tester, Mr. Green's practice continued to focus upon business dispute resolution with a particular emphasis in real estate-related matters. At Pettis Tester, Mr. Green met and practiced with Howard Hall, his co-founding partner of Green & Hall. The firm was formed in 1995, and Mr. Green's practice has continued to expand through today. Mr. Green has tried to verdict or judgment a large number of matters, and has successfully handled disputes totaling well over a billion dollars. Since 1998, he has served as a Judge Pro Tem for the Orange County Superior Court. Back to Partner Overview |
